Marvel Rivals may soon be adding two new characters to its roster, according to teasers discovered within the closed beta. NetEase Games commenced a beta test on July 23, running for two weeks, allowing players to try out Marvel Rivals' full selection of superheroes, including Black Panther, Doctor Strange, and Scarlet Witch.
Currently, there are 21 confirmed characters in the Marvel Rivals lineup. However, Easter eggs scattered across various maps suggest the potential arrival of two familiar faces. Following the success of last year's "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse" and the buzz surrounding the upcoming "Deadpool & Wolverine" movie, it seems likely that NetEase might introduce Marvel's Merc With a Mouth, Wade Wilson (Deadpool), and one of Spider-Man's female variants, Spider-Gwen.

As Marvel Rivals is a free-to-play title, it is expected that NetEase will gradually introduce new characters, skins, and cosmetics. Some sharp-eyed players have spotted teasers indicating the possible imminent arrival of Deadpool and Spider-Gwen. On the Spider Islands map, a drum kit spray-painted white and pink with Gwen's mask eyes on the bass drum hints at Spider-Gwen. In the Shibuya level, a subtle clue for Deadpool can be found in the form of his mask printed on a post-it style sticker.
While these clues suggest that Spider-Gwen and Deadpool might join the roster, their inclusion remains speculative until NetEase makes an official announcement. There is ongoing online discussion about whether Spider-Gwen will be a standalone character or an extension of Peter Parker's Spider-Man as a purchasable skin. Similarly, Deadpool might have multiple interchangeable skins in Marvel Rivals to represent his various variants, such as Lady Deadpool, Dogpool, and Evil Deadpool.
