The Haunted Mansion is one of the most iconic attractions at Disney parks worldwide, each featuring a unique version of the ride. Disneyland California, however, elevates this experience annually for the holiday season by transforming the classic Haunted Mansion into Haunted Mansion Holiday, incorporating characters and scenes from the beloved film "The Nightmare Before Christmas." Though the Haunted Mansion has been closed for construction since January, recent rumors suggest that Haunted Mansion Holiday may reopen this weekend, several weeks earlier than anticipated.

Each year, Haunted Mansion Holiday takes place during the Halloween and Christmas seasons, overlaying the original attraction from roughly August to late January or early February. This seasonal transformation means the classic version of the ride is available for less than half the year. Last year, it was announced that Disneyland's Haunted Mansion would be closed for much of this year to undergo construction to expand the queue and improve the immersion throughout the Mansion's courtyard. Additionally, rumors suggest changes to some ride effects, including the possible removal of the controversial hanging man effect at the beginning of the attraction.

However, new rumors indicate that the Haunted Mansion may reopen this weekend, offering guests their first holiday experience at Disneyland this year. According to a report by Disneyland News Today, Haunted Mansion Holiday could open as early as July 26. The ride closed in January while still in its holiday mode. Although Disney has not confirmed this rumor, it has announced that the ride will be open by the time the Halloween season and Oogie Boogie Bash start on August 23. This would be the earliest start for the Halloween season at Disneyland.

The July 26 reopening date remains a rumor, and until Disney confirms an actual date, plans could change. Last month, Disney announced that the attraction would reopen using a virtual queue system, requiring guests to use the Genie+ system to secure a return time, as the standby queue will remain closed. This virtual queue system was first introduced with the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge in 2019 and will now include Haunted Mansion Holiday.
