EEAT and SEO Guide. All the keys to position better

Post by seoserive »

What does EAT mean in SEO?

The term EAT has been used, for the last five years in the SEO world, as an acronym for “Expertise, Authoritativeness, Trustworthiness”.
In other words, EAT is a way to measure the authenticity and quality of the content on your website. If you aspire to gain higher search engine visibility, you need to offer good levels of awareness, authority, and trustworthiness.
Although this seems like another complicated twist on the part of Google, calm down, it really is not excessively difficult to implement these guidelines on your site.
By putting these strategies into practice in your SEO Service, it is very likely that your website will be seen as an expert in your sector, in the eyes of Google, relatively soon.

And now, what is the EEAT in SEO?

But wait, because in an update to Google's guidelines, published on December 15, 2022, the search engine incorporated a new concept: the ESAW. That is, an additional abbreviation is added to the acronym.
Now the experience of its authors is also considered when evaluating the quality of content. The "experience", wow. And that's where that new "E" comes from.
In fact, quoting Google verbatim, the raison d'être of this new component comes from: “Does the content show that it was produced with some degree of experience, such as the actual use of a product, having visited a place or communicating what you experienced? a person? There are some situations where what is really valued the most is content produced by someone who has first-hand experience with the subject matter.”
With the new "E" of Experience in the EEATA, it is considered to what extent the creator of the content has a real experience to talk about a specific topic.
“Many types of pages are reliable and serve their purpose well when created by people with a wealth of personal experience. For example, which would you trust: a product review from someone who has personally used the product, or a “review” from someone who hasn't?” adds Google.
Why should you care about the EEAT?
EEAT, for Google, are a set of signals of things that are being done well. And, of course, it has a certain impact in relation to search engine rankings and, therefore, in SEO visibility.
Google will rank your site better if it has fresh, quality, frequently updated content. Therefore, having fresh and quality content is synonymous with greater visibility, more visitor traffic and, ultimately, a better turnover.

This will be from 2023 one of the fundamental SEO guidelines to position ourselves.

In short, EEAT is actually a measure of how trustworthy your content is to Google . And quality, fresh, reliable, trustworthy content generated by experts with the legitimacy to write about it referring to a real and first-person experience is precisely what Google looks for when it decides to position one website or another in its SERPs ( search engine results page).

Your Money Your Life (YMYL)

Websites that distribute products or offer services or information that may affect users' happiness, health, financial stability, or safety are categorized by Google as YMYL, which stands for "Your money or your life" ("Your Money or Your Life").
John Mueller, lawyer and SEO expert at Google, shared some thoughts on the importance of EAT (now EEAT) for YMYL-listed websites in March 2021.
“I don't think there is a simple approach to this. And I think especially when it comes to medical content, it's very important that our algorithms be very picky about what we display. So I would look at the quality rater guidelines and really think about how quality raters might perceive your site.
